Submit Edge: The SEO Company with an Edge

Submit Edge is a SEO firm website that offers SEO services, although they seem to be heavily focused on link building. The amount of link building services they offer are numerous, including directory & article submissions, squidoo lens creation, link wheels, article prisms and forum profile links to name a few.

I’ve known about Submit Edge for a long time and finally decided to test out their service in July of last year. I went ahead and purchased one of their “Niche One Way Links” packages for one of my own travel websites (which is now since been shut down). I didn’t know what to expect, but considering they were (apparently) “One of the Top 5 Link Building Companies in the World“, I should hope to see at least 50-80% of the links they send me to be permanent and high quality, right?

Wrong. Wrong. Wrong.

6 days after I had made the order, I received an email saying that my links were now live. I logged into my account and opened up my report, and you can guess what I saw. Actually, you don’t need to guess, because I still have the report they sent me. Let me show you a sample of where my links were placed:

All I can say is, thank God I wasn’t dumb enough to purchase the $1500 package!

OK, so I got some bad quality links. They were still links though, yes? They were kind of relevant, so I shouldn’t be penalized for spam or anything like that, correct? After all, some of these pages have PageRank so it should still help me in the SERPS, shouldn’t it? I guess I could justify these links, so I let them stay and decided not to contest with Submit Edge for a refund or anything of that nature.

Fast forward to February of this year. Out of sheer curiosity, I had decided to visit all the websites where my report told me I had links on, including the ones mentioned above. Now here’s the interesting thing: ONLY 10% OF THE WEBSITES STILL HAD MY LINK LIVE!

What had happened to the rest? Well, 1/3 of the remaining websites had been shut down! The rest had simply decided to remove my link. Now THIS called for a customer support ticket at Submit Edge. I simply wrote 5 words to them: “What happened to my links?”

2 days later, I received a reply from one of their staff. Here it is what it read (unaltered):

Dear customer, we are sorry to inform you but we only give our customer’s a 6 months guarantee to replace all the non working links from our side unfortunately that time span has passed so we are extremely sorry but we cannot provide you with a replacement of your non working links. Hoping you may comply with us. Thank you.

So, what can we take away from this?

Submit Edge offers you bad quality links, on pages where there are 50-200 existing external links, on somewhat relevant websites that will remove your link after 6 months.

Has this happened to anyone else using Submit Edge? Am I the only one who thinks that their “One of the Top 5 Link Building Companies in the World” ranking needs to be re-evaluated?

This seems to be standard practise for most of the link building companies based in India. They will charge anywhere between $2 and $20 per link. The links will be on low quality sites with PR0-4, most have more than 50 out bound links and some will have up to 300. I have tried a number of these companies on test sites trying to find a good link building service and have found that they will only guarantee the links for 3-6 months and if there is a PR update before then you will probably loose al or most of the PR. I would guess there are many companies that run these sites and probably by high PR expired domain names and run them until the PR fades. I noticed some of the sites I was shown where PR2 or 3 but only had 3 or 4 backlinks and they could not explain why these sites had the PR they did.

There seem to be some link building companies on Freelancer.com that have got some good reviews so I will be testing out a few in the near future. Like any service you should only really use a company that comes highly recommended.

    Happy linkbuilding.

  2. Thank you for you post! I did do go to try Submit Edge and after they finished with their work we realised that they have really done nothing. So we never used them ever again. We did find however some good companies. So, it could be a matter of trial and error? The best, of course, is to do it yourself!

    Hi,
This is the nature of link building. Check you results, that’s what you should look at not how many links are still live. This method of link building does produce results.

Do you think you can get links on pr4+ pages with only a few outbound links for what you are paying? No way!

At least 50% of links will disappear in 6-12 months, this id a known fact, that’s why SEO is a monthly service. It’s not a 1 time thing. I think a lot of the problem here is you don’t have realistic expectations as to how things work.

What you are asking for will cost $1000′s per month to deliver.

Lots of these so-called link builders are scams to steal hard working peoples money!
